Gene Information
human ... LGI1(9211)
General description
Leucine-rich glioma inactivated gene 1 (LGI1), also known as Epitempin-1 (EPT), is a member of a family of highly related proteins containing leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) regulating voltage-gated potassium channels assembled from KCNA1, KCNA4 and KCNAB1. LGI1 may play a role in the control of neuroblastoma cell survival and may play a role in other cancers. It is expressed in neural tissue, especially brain. Mutations in LGI1 have been associated with nearly half of autodominant lateral temporal epilepsy (ADTLE).
~56 kDa observed. Uniprot describes 3 isoforms at ~33 kDa, ~58 kDa, and ~64 kDa Uncharacterized bands may appear in some lysates.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human LGI1.
Application
Detect LGI1 using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-LGI1 Antibody validated for use in western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of LGI1.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by Western Blotting/Peptide Inhibition Assay in mouse brain tissue lysate.
Western Blotting/Peptide Inhibition Assay Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected LGI1 in 15 µg of mouse brain tissue lysate.
