      Applications
ApplicationDetect Glycine Transporter 2 using this Anti-Glycine Transporter 2 Antibody, neuronal validated for use in IH.
      Key Applications
      • Immunohistochemistry
Application NotesImmunohistochemistry: 1:2,000-1:4,000 using a cyanine-conjugated secondary antibody. In some neuronal systems in the brain the antibody has been used at a dilution of 1:10,000 using enzymatic detection systems. Lightly fixed 4% PFA material is recommended.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
      Biological Information
ImmunogenSynthetic peptide from the carboxy-terminus as predicted from the cloned rat GLYT2.
      HostSheep
SpecificityGlycine Transporter 2, Neuronal (GLYT2). The antiserum has been tested on tissue sections from the central nervous system. The staining pattern obtained with AB1771 corresponds to the pattern described using in situ hybridization with probes to GLYT2 mRNA and to what has been described for glycinergic neurons. Preabsorption of the antiserum with the immunogen peptide completely abolishes the immunostaining.

UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: SwissProt: Q9Y345 # Terminates the action of glycine by its high affinity sodium-dependent reuptake into presynaptic terminals. May be responsible for the termination of neurotransmission at strychnine-sensitive glycinergic synapses.
SIZE: 797 amino acids; 87360 Da
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in medulla, and to a lesser extent in spinal cord and cerebellum.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: Q9Y345 ## Belongs to the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) family.
