General description

Cellvento® 4HEK Medium is a chemically defined medium optimized for adeno-associated virus (AAV) production in multiple human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 lineages. Cellvento® 4HEK Medium has been streamlined and cell culture media components incorporated to increase media stability and reduce protein oxidation. The formulation is animal component free.

Application

  • Used as an amplification and production medium for gene therapy applications, especially for adeno-associated virus (AAV) production in HEK293 cell lines.
  • Suitable for all stages of the AAV production process, including cell expansion, transfection, and virus production

Features and Benefits

  • Enables rapid cell growth and high viable cell densities across multiple HEK293 cell variants.
  • Compatible with commonly used transfection reagents such as PEI, supporting efficient transfection protocols.

Preparation Note

Dry powder medium must be supplemented with 2.5 g/LSodium Bicarbonate. Once hydrated, medium must be supplemented with 6-10 mML-Glutamine.
