General description

Pyridine is a high-purity polar, basic, and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic solvent widely used in analytical chemistry. Its high solvency power, miscibility with water and organic solvents, and compatibility with UV detection make it suitable for LC/MS, GC, and other chromatographic techniques, especially in the analysis of polar and basic compounds.

Application

Pyridine can be used as a:
  • Solvent for sample preparation and derivatization in GC analysis of polar compounds, including alcohols, esters, and organic acids.
