Description

DescriptionAnti-FUBP3 Antibody
Alternate Names
  • FUSE-binding protein 3
  • far upstream element (FUSE) binding protein 3
  • far upstream element binding protein 3
Background InformationThe three far-upstream element (FUSE) binding proteins (FBP1, FBP2, and FBP3) belong to an ancient family of single-stranded DNA binding proteins which are required for proper regulation of the c-myc proto-oncogene. The FBP, FBP2, and FBP3 genes are located on different chromosomes in mice and humans. However, their primary sequences are closely related. The FPB proteins are believed to be multifunctional. Besides regulating the transcription of c-myc (and quite likely other targets), the FBP family has been shown to bind a variety of RNAs in vitro.
