Replacement Information
Description
OverviewA pentapeptide based on the carboxyl terminus of H-Ras with a dansyl group attached to the amino terminus. Serves as a fluorescent substrate for continuously monitoring fluorescent protein-geranylgeranyltransferase (type I) (GGTase-I) activity (Km = 5 µM) in the presence of geranylgeranyl diphosphate. S-geranylgeranylation of the cysteine moiety results in a significant enhancement in fluorescence intensity (monitored at λ = 460 nm). Reported to be highly selective for GGTase and is not recognized by FTase.
