DescriptionAnti-phospho Histone H2A.X Antibody (Tyr142)
Alternate Names
  • Histone H2A.x
  • H2a/x
Background InformationHistone H2A is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail H2A is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. The phosphorylated form of H2A.X is thought to be invloved with DNA repair, possibly through reorganizing chromatin into a more open state and allowing the recruitment of proteins to repair DNA double stranded breaks.
