クラリスロマイシンは、細菌のタンパク質合成を妨げるマクロライド系抗生物質です。クラリスロマイシンはエリスロマイシンの酸安定バージョンであり、グラム陰性菌に対して特に効果的です。この半減期は短いですが、その代謝物である14-ヒドロキシクラリスロマイシンは、特定の細菌に対してクラリスロマイシンのほぼ2倍の活性を示します。
