Dmb dipeptides are extremely powerful tools for enhancing synthetic efficiency in Fmoc SPPS of intractable peptides, long peptides and cyclic peptides. They work in exactly the same way as pseudoproline dipeptides by exploiting the “proline effect” to disrupt the formation of the secondary structures during peptide assembly. The results are better and more predictable acylation and deprotection kinetics, enhanced reaction rates, and improved yields, purities and solubilities of crude products.
