Immunogen
Purified tenascin from embryonic chicken brain.
Application
Anti-Tenascin Antibody is an antibody against Tenascin for use in IH, IH(P).
Function blocking
Western blot: Antibody recognizes a 220-240kDa band in reduced westerns; antibody reacts best with chicken, followed by human (100X less reactive). Mouse reactivity under reduced conditions is poor.
Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin embedded tissues; citrate treatment useful for paraffin tissues.
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Reactive with tenascin from chicken and human by immunohistochemistry. Under reducing conditions, reactivity to chicken is approximately 100X greater than reactivity with human tenascin. Reactivity with mouse tenascin under reducing conditions is poor, but reacts with mouse in paraffin embedded sections.
Physical form
Affinity Purified using immobilized chicken tenascin. Provided as a liquid in PBS, containing no preservatives.
