Resins for the Synthesis of Tertiary Amines by Solid Phase Organic Synthesis |
These supports are excellent tools for the synthesis of tertiary amines by SPOS. Addition of a primary or secondary amine to the immobilized Michael acceptor gives the corresponding polymer-supported secondary or tertiary amine. Following quaternization with the appropriate alkyl halide, treatment with a soluble or polymer-bound base affords the tertiary amine by β-elimination. Cleavage has also been effected by photoinduced cyclorelease and oxidation-Cope elimination.
