General description
Black phosphorus, also known as phosphorene, is a stable allotrope of phosphorus with semiconducting properties. It has a good mechanical property and a tunable band structure. BP also has good anisotropic thermal, electrical and optical properties.
Application
BP is a two dimensional (2D) p-type material, which shows high hole mobility up to 1000 cm2V-1s-1. It can be used in the fabrication of energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries. BP can also be used in a variety of biomedical applications such as photodynamic therapy.
Owing to the unique properties such as thickness dependent tunable band gap, strong in-plane anisotropy, and high carrier mobility, 2D-black phosphorous has attracted significant attention recently. The applications of 2D-black phosphorous extend from electronics, to optoelectronics, spintronics, thermoelectrics and storage devices.
Disclaimer
Material is very oxygen sensitive. Please handle under inert atmosphere.
