General description
Aβ1-42 plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease. Elevated levels of Aβ1-42 are associated with the development of amyloid plaques, which can disrupt neuronal function, trigger neuroinflammation, and lead to neuronal cell death. The presence of Aβ1-42 in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is often inversely correlated with cognitive decline, making it a valuable biomarker for early diagnosis and monitoring of Alzheimer′s disease.
