General description

ラパマイシンは、細菌Streptomyces hygroscopicusから得られるマクロライド系抗生物質に属します。当初は抗真菌薬として使用されましたが、その後、免疫抑制薬として使用され、さらに抗がん剤候補となる可能性も明らかになりました。セリン／トレオニンキナーゼの活性を阻害し、続いてサイトカイン駆動性T細胞の増殖を阻害することによって作用します。
