A series of N-[(2,3,4,6-tetramethylbenzoyl)alkyl]imidazoles and of N-([beta-(2,3,5,6-tetramethylphenyl)-beta-hydroxy]ethyl)imidazoles has been synthesized. All compounds were tested in mice for anticonvulsant activity against electroshock and pentylenetetrazole convulsions.
