Biochem/physiol Actions
ポリ(ビニルアルコール)（PVA）は、水に可溶性のポリヒドロキシポリマーです。PVAは、高度の機械的強度、生体適合性を有し、そして無毒性であることが知られています。したがって、医用インプラント材料として利用されています。酢酸ビニルをポリ(酢酸ビニル)に重合させ、次にこれを加水分解するとPVAが形成されます。その応用例は、薬物送達システム、創傷被覆材、透析膜、人工皮膚、外科的修復、および心血管系デバイスにおいて認められます。
