General description

カリウムは細胞内カチオンで、全身の細胞外液に存在するK+はわずか2％です。細胞内空間と細胞外空間の間でのK+分布は、Na+-K+-ATPase、Na+-K+-2Cl-共輸送体NKCC1、4つのKCC、数多く存在するK+チャネルなど、いくつかの輸送経路の作用によって分析できます。また、骨格筋には全身のカリウムのほぼ75％が含まれており、細胞外のK+に大きな影響を与えます。利尿剤の使用時などに生じるカリウム欠乏症の予防や補正のため、塩化カリウムが経口摂取されます。栄養補助食品や塩の代わりに使用されます。
