General description

水酸化ナトリウムは、苛性ソーダまたは灰汁とも呼ばれる白色、無臭の結晶性固体です。腐食性があり、空気中の水分を吸収します。水酸化ナトリウムは水に溶けると熱を生じて可燃物質を発火させます。ペレット形の水酸化ナトリウムが溶けると、水よりも密度の高い無色の液体になります。

Application

水酸化ナトリウムは、固体または50％溶液の形で一般に使用されます。石鹸や紙、レーヨン、石油製品の製造の各段階での使用に適しています。また、FTIR分析を用いた炭水化物の研究にも使われます。水酸化ナトリウムは、酵素加水分解を調べるための前処理試薬として使用されます。
