スペルミンは、スペルミジンから得られるポリカチオン生体ポリアミンであり、多種多様な生物学的応用でサプリメントあるいは制御薬として使用することができます。陰イオンモードにおけるシアル酸付加グリカンの MALDI-MSにDHBとの共基質として使用されます。
Biochem/physiol Actions
ポリアミン部位におけるNMDAアゴニスト/アンタゴニスト混合型です。細胞の増殖や分化に関与しており、神経型一酸化窒素合成酵素(nNOS)を阻害します。
ポリアミン部位におけるNMDAグルタミン酸受容体アゴニスト/アンタゴニスト混合型です。高濃度(1 mM)では神経保護作用が確認されていますが、低濃度では神経毒性が生じます。ストリキニ-ネ非感受性のグリシン部位でアゴニストの効果性を高めます。細胞の増殖や分化に関与しており、神経型一酸化窒素合成酵素(nNOS)を阻害します。
