Biochem/physiol Actions
COX-2はアラキドン酸をプロスタグランジンH2に変換する反応(プロスタグランジン、トロンボキサン、プロスタサイクリンの生合成の第1段階)を触媒します。誘導型のシクロオキシゲナ-ゼであり、ホルボ-ルエステル、リポ多糖類、サイトカインによって誘導されます。COX-2は悪性腫瘍の新生血管系においてアップレギュレ-トされています。非ステロイド性抗炎症剤(NSAID)によるCOX-2の阻害は腫瘍増殖の阻害と関連しています。
General description
アラキドン酸に対するKMは 6.5 μMです。酵素活性およびNSAIDに対する感受性は、タグを持たない酵素と同等です。

1単位は、37°C、pH 8において1分あたり1.0ナノモルの酸素を消費します。
N末端近傍に6残基のヒスチジンからなる配列のタグが付加されています。
