Application
ウシ赤血球（BCA）由来の炭酸脱水酵素が、酵素の凝集挙動に対する酵素結合金属イオンZn2+除去の影響を研究するために使用されています。EDTAなどのキレート剤による金属イオンの除去は、酵素が溶融球状態になる傾向を強化します。この状態の酵素は、シャペロン様α-クリスタリンに結合し、凝集を妨げることがわかっています。Sigmaの炭素脱水酵素は、溶解CO2を測定する分析機器を開発するために電気化学的トランスデューサーに固定化されています。また、BCAの構造変化の熱力学的分析にも使用されています。
Biochem/physiol Actions
炭酸脱水酵素は、分子量約30,000 Daの亜鉛金属酵素です。この酵素は、二酸化炭素の水和を触媒し、炭酸を生成します。この酵素は、pHおよびCO2の恒常性、重炭酸の輸送および CO2の生合成反応、骨吸収、石灰化、腫瘍形成能など生体の生理学的および病理学的プロセスに関与します。したがって、この酵素は緑内障、てんかん、パーキンソン病などのさまざまな病態に対する臨床的用途において、インヒビターの重要な標的となります。
