General description
カードランは、主にAlcaligenes faecalis（アルカリ大便菌）により生成される直鎖状構造を有する不溶性の天然ポリマーです。ゼラチン特性を有する食物繊維です。
Application
Alcaligenes faecalis（アルカリ大便菌）由来のカードランは、以下の用途に使用されています：
- 発現量が異なる遺伝子の調節を目的としたコイのマクロファージの刺激に
- サイトカイン分泌のためヒト小腸上皮細胞を刺激するため
- マウス肺胞マクロファージにおける炎症／呼吸バースト関連遺伝子の転写応答に対する作用を、カスタマイズされた逆転写（RT）-PCRベースのアレイによって検討するため
- β-1,3–1,4-グルカナーゼ活性アッセイにおける基質として
Biochem/physiol Actions
カードランは食品産業において食品添加物として使用されています。骨再生を補助するヒドロキシアパタイト／キトサン足場の弾性を改善し、脆化傾向を抑制します。
カードランは(1,3)-β-グルカンです。これは、受容体デクチン-1によって認識される病原体関連分子パターン（PAMP）です。TLR2/TLR6とともにデクチン-1の活性化は、シグナル伝達を促進し、炎症誘発性サイトカインの産生を引き起こし、炎症を誘発します。
Preparation Note
70°Cでのゲル化の場合には、水酸化ナトリウム濃度を0.01 Mにして下さい。
本製品は、0.1N 水酸化ナトリウム溶液で 9.8 ～ 10.2 mg/mL の濃度で溶解性をテスト済みです。通常、溶解には加熱および／または超音波処理が必要です。本製品は滅菌されていません。細胞培養に使用する場合は、使用前にストック溶液をろ過滅菌してください。
