General description

5,5′-ジチオビス（2-ニトロ安息香酸）は、DTNBまたはエルマン試薬とも呼ばれます。水溶性の試薬であり、チオール基と反応します。中性pHで用いることができるため便利です。チオラートアニオン（RS-）はエルマン試薬（DTNB2-）と反応し、2-ニトロ-5-チオ安息香酸アニオン（TNB2-）および混合ジスルフィド（R-S-TNB-）を与えます。TNB2-は高いモル吸収係数を持ち、412 nmの波長を吸収します。この吸収はpH 7.3以上ではpHの影響を受けません。
