Application

USDA(米国農務省)承認製品(Approved Sourcing)は、牛肉製品の米国向け輸出をUSDAにより承認された、米国外の諸国で収集された血液から製造されたFBSを指します。米国向け輸出の適格国には、オーストラリア、カナダ、チリ、コスタリカ、ホンジュラス、アイスランド、日本、メキシコ、ニュージーランド、ニカラグア、ウルグアイが挙げられます。米国外諸国由来の血清は、発売前に外来ウイルスが存在しないことをUSDAが検査します。
USDAの承認した非米国産FBSは、幅広い細胞培養アプリケーションに使用されます。FBSは細胞培養において、定義されていない多くの増殖促進および生存強化因子を提供します。

ウシ胎児血清は以下の細胞培養に使用されています：
  • 初代培養ヒトマクロファージ（単核細胞は、ウシ胎児血清（FBS）や他の成分を含む、ロズウェルパーク記念研究所（RPMI）培地に懸濁されます）。
  • 組織培養（MEFは、FBSや他の成分を含むDMEM培地で培養されます）。
  • 初代乳腺上皮オルガノイドの分離および3D培養
  • 細胞培養および培地（HUVECは、FBSや他の成長因子を含むEndothelial Cell Growth培地-2中で増殖します）

General description

ウシ胎児血清（FBS）またはFCSは、血液の自然凝固後に残った血液分画です。畜殺場における閉鎖系での採血によって、ウシ胎児から得られます。in vitroでの真核細胞の培養に最も広く使用される血清サプリメントです。
