Biochem/physiol Actions
ヒトでは、フェチュイン遺伝子の多型が2型糖尿病に関与しており、脂肪細胞の機能性を調節します。肥満と非アルコール性脂肪性肝疾患（NAFLD）において、フェチュイン高値が認められます。フェチュインは、代謝障害の臨床診断のマーカー候補です。
General description
フェチュインは、ウシ胎児血清に豊富に存在する糖化タンパク質であり、輸送及び貯蔵タンパク質として働きます。これはα2-Heremans-Schmid糖タンパク質（AHSG）とも呼ばれ、分子量64 kDaに相当します。これはスタチンファミリーに属し、主に肝臓で合成され、一部は腎臓、胎盤、舌で合成されます。
