General description
α-ラクトアルブミンは、これまでに調べられたすべてのミルクで確認されている小球状の乳清タンパク質です。哺乳類で産生される約14 kDaの金属タンパク質です。
Application
ラクトアルブミンは、ハマダラカの飼育にも使用されています。
α-ラクトアルブミンは、過敏性腸症候群患者における食品に対する過敏性の診断のための細胞学的アッセイで使用されました。
Biochem/physiol Actions
α-ラクトアルブミンは、ジスルフィド結合を形成する8つのシステインを持つ1本のポリペプチド鎖で構成されています。α-ラクトアルブミンは、カルシウムなどの複数の金属イオンと結合し、それが還元変性型から天然型のα-ラクトアルブミンへの再生において役割を果たしていると考えられています。 α-ラクトアルブミンには特徴的な亜鉛結合部位もあり、これがラクトース合成酵素複合体の結合において役割を果たしていると考えられています。 成熟タンパク質は123のアミノ酸残基（14 kDa）で構成されており、1.7 オングストローム分解能で3次元構造を持っており、4つのα-へリックスと三重鎖の逆平行β-シートが確認されています。
