Application

D-ルシフェリンは、マウスおよびArabidopsis thaliana種子を用いたルシフェラーゼアッセイによるルシフェラーゼ活性の測定に使用されています。また、新生児ラット心室心筋細胞の生物発光の測定にも使用されています。
ホタルルシフェラーゼの基質であり、Kmは約2 μMです。

Biochem/physiol Actions

D-ルシフェリンの細胞内への取り込みは、アデノシン三リン酸（ATP）結合カセット（ABC）トランスポーターG2（ABCG2）／乳がん耐性タンパク質（BCRP）阻害剤であるフミトレモルジンCなどの、ABCトランスポーター阻害剤によって制御されています。この基質はホタルルシフェラーゼによって酸化され、生体組織を通過できる光子を放出します。
