SNAPは、ニトロソチオ-ルの誘導体であり、生理的条件下において一酸化窒素 (NO) を遊離します。NOの薬理学的・生理学的作用に関する研究に用いられます。 SNAPはNOを遊離する性質があるため、in vitroおよびin vivoにおける強力な血管拡張薬であり、薬理学的耐性を生じる傾向は低いです。
