研究用途でステロイド系ホルモンおよび毒素などの脂溶性化合物の送達ビヒクルとして使用されます。ゴマ油は抗酸化剤特性を有しており、動物性モデルにおいてリポ多糖体（LPS）-刺激性酸化ストレスを防ぐことが示されました。
General description
ゴマ油はバイオディーゼルの生産で使用することができ、ディーゼル燃料の実行可能な代替物になる可能性があります。ゴマ油は、栄養補助食品として与えられた時、局所脳虚血のラットの脳海馬における神経保護活性を持つ抗酸化剤として作用します。ゴマ油の消費は、糖尿病のラットにおける血糖、グリコシル化ヘモグロビン、リピド過酸化および抗酸化剤レベルに対し有益な影響を与えます。
