Application
大腸菌由来のチオレドキシンは、チオレドキシン還元酵素アッセイ、ペルオキシダーゼ結合チオレドキシンシステムアッセイ、ペルオキシレドキシンアッセイに使用されています。また、網膜色素変性（RP）のマウスモデルにおける光受容体死への影響や、疾患進行中の網膜酸化ストレス、グリアの変化、血管の変化を修飾する可能性を調べるためにも用いられています。
Biochem/physiol Actions
大腸菌由来のチオレドキシンは、REDOX反応を触媒し、さまざまな生物学的プロセスに関与します。また、多くのタンパク質の構造と活性を調節します。酵素チオレドキシンレダクターゼは、チオレドキシンの還元を触媒します。チオレドキシンは、酸化ストレス応答にも関与します。チオレドキシンは、成人T細胞白血病由来因子（ADF）と細胞レドックス酵素のいずれとしても知られ、サイトカインまたはケモカインとして機能し、細胞間の情報伝達を促進します。また、細胞増殖やアポトーシスの調節にも関与します。
タンパク質のジスルフィド結合の還元を仲介します。
