General description

ββ-チューブリンIVは、β-チューブリン4A（TUBB4A）をコードしています。TUBB4Aは、オリゴデンドロサイトにより中枢神経系で発現されます。ヒト染色体19p13.3に位置しています。
微小管は、α-チューブリンおよび β-チューブリンで構成されるヘテロ二量体タンパク質です。ββ-チューブリンは、脳細胞においてβ Iからβ IVという4種類のアイソタイプがあります。抗チューブリン抗体は、チューブリンタンパク質の局在を調べるのに役立ちます。モノクローナル抗β-チューブリンIV抗体は、ヒト、ウシ、ハムスター、ラット、マウス、ニワトリにおいてβ-チューブリンアイソタイプIVのC末端配列にあるエピトープに特異的です。本製品は、その他のチューブリンアイソタイプとは反応しません。

Biochem/physiol Actions

ββ-チューブリンIVは、オリゴデンドロサイト微小管ネットワークを形成し、それがミエリン形成時にミエリンタンパク質、脂質、RNAの運搬に役立ちます。初期の線維化段階の発生に関与しています。TUBB4は、細胞膜内でのN-カドヘリンの運搬と適切な局在化において主要な役割を担っています。
