Biochem/physiol Actions

チューブリンβ3クラスIII（TUBB3）は、神経系の発生と軸索ガイダンスに極めて重要な役割を担っています。タンパク質をコードする遺伝子の変異は、眼球運動疾患、3型先天性外眼筋線維症（CFEOM3）、およびさまざまな神経学的症候群につながります。タンパク質発現の変化は微小管動態と微小管-キネシン相互作用に影響を与えます。TUBB3発現の増加は腫瘍組織で観察されます。TUBB3発現が減少することは、皮膚悪性黒色腫の予後不良の重要なマーカーと考えることができます。TUBB3は腫瘍組織の浸潤性増殖の抑制に関わるため、抗がん剤開発の潜在的な標的と考えられます。

チューブリンβ 3クラスIII（TUBB3）はβ-チューブリンIIIとも呼ばれ、ヒト染色体16q24.3にマッピングされた遺伝子によってコードされています。TUBB3タンパク質の発現はニューロンに限定されます。
