Biochem/physiol Actions
チロシンヒドロキシラーゼ (TH) は、神経伝達物質であるカテコールアミンの生合成において最初の律速段階、すなわちL-チロシンをL-ドーパに変換する段階を触媒します。L-フェニルアラニンによるTHの阻害は、フェニルケトン尿症において重要な役割を果たす可能性があり、ノルエピネフリンの合成を阻害すると考えられています。リン酸化によってTHの活性が調整されます。THの発現が低下すると、統合失調症やパーキンソン病 (PD) などのさまざまな神経精神病が生じます。

General description
チロシンヒドロキシラ-ゼ(TH)は、フェニルアラニンからド-パミンへの変換に関与しています。カテコ-ルアミン生合成経路の初期の律速段階を触媒します。
チロシンヒドロキシラーゼ（TH）は、ヒト染色体11p15にマッピングされている遺伝子にコードされています。THは4つの同一サブユニットで構成された四量体で、調節領域、触媒領域、および四量体化領域を特徴とします。THは、補基質としてチロシン、テトラヒドロビオプテリン（BH4）およびO2を、補因子としてFe2+を利用します。
