Pyrocatechol Violet (PV) is a sulfone phthalein dye. It chelates metal ions. The metal-PV complex is bluish-violet in color.
Application
Pyrocatechol Violet has been used in the formation of dye-metal complexes. It has also been used to determine Cu2+ chelating activity.
