General description
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product is used as a surfactant to enhance catalysis. Click here for more information.
SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) is a wetting agent and an anionic detergent which functions efficiently in both alkaline and acidic solutions. It is generally used for the solubilization of lipids and proteins. It also functions as a potent protein denaturant. SDS, volume-wise, is one of the most commonly used synthetic surfactants.

This study investigates Bisphenol A (BPA) induced oxidative stress that mediates the genotoxicity in in vivo model Drosophila melanogaster. The calculated LC50 for BPA was 12.35 μg/mL. The strains of D. melanogaster were reared in 0.1, 1.0, 2.5 and 5.0 μg/mL BPA

Over 50 detergents were tested to establish which would be most effective in releasing proteins from membrane-bounded compartments without denaturing them. Various concentrations each of detergent were tested for two activities: (1) solubilization of egg phospholipid liposomes as measured by
