General description
Cyclopentanone is one of the industrially important compounds employed in the synthesis of fungicides, pharmaceuticals, rubber chemicals and perfume products.
Application
Cyclopentanone may be used as a reference standard for the determination of cyclopentanone in:
- Pyrolysis oil samples by gas chromatography with flame ionization detector (GC-FID) as well as two-dimensional GC with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS).
- Brazilian sugarcane spirits and rum by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) diode array detector (DAD).
- Crude and hydrotreated bio-oils obtained from various biomass resources by GC×GC-FID as well as GC×GC-TOF MS.
- Indoor air samples of semiconductor foundries by multisorbent adsorption/thermal desorption combined with GC-MS.
