Gold(III) chloride solution, commonly called asauric chloride or auric acid is widely used as a precursor to synthesize goldcomplexes and stable gold nanoparticles. It also finds application in the fieldof catalysis.
Application
Gold(III) chloride solution can be used:
- As a starting material to prepare thiolate-stabilized gold nanoparticles.
- As an efficient catalyst for single-pot oxidative functionalization of alkanes and alcohols.
- As a catalyst for diastereoselective alkylation reactions with chiral benzylic acetates.
