Application

Sodium sulfate can be used as a catalyst:
  • In the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with arylboronic acids to synthesize biaryl compounds in the presence of PdCl2.
  • For the aminolytic depolymerization of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle waste.
It can also be used as an additive in the Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira reaction of terminal alkynes with aryl halides to synthesize polyfunctional alkynes.
