General description
Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth factor, which modulates the proliferation, differentiation and functional activation of monocytes. It is produced by fibroblasts, endothelial cells and bone marrow stromal cells. MCSF stimulates the functions of mature monocytes and macrophages.
Application
Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor human has been used for the differentiation of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) and human monocyte-derived macrophages (MDMs). It has also been used for cell culture.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) augments many of the physiological functions of macrophages, and support osteoclast differentiation.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a sterile filtered buffered solution.
Analysis Note
The proliferative activity is tested in culture using the cytokine-dependent murine monocytic cell line M-NFS-60 cells.
Other Notes
159 amino acids including N-terminal methionine (each monomer).

The tumor-cell microenvironment is recognized as a dynamic place where critical cell interactions occur and play an important role in altering tumorigenesis. While many studies have investigated the effects of cellular cross-talk within distinct tumor microenvironments, these interactions have yet
