Potassium phosphate monobasic (KH₂PO₄), also known as monopotassium phosphate(MKP), is a soluble salt. It serves as a source of phosphorus and potassium. KH₂PO₄ is an essential component of potassium phosphate buffer, which is utilized in aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) that are often used in the purification of lipases.
