General description
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in the immune response by promoting the activation and proliferation of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. It is primarily produced by macrophages and dendritic cells and is involved in various physiological processes, including inflammation, infection, and autoimmune diseases.
