General description

2,2,4-Trimethylpentane, also known as isooctane, is a high-purity hydrocarbon solvent formulated for analytical applications. Its low polarity, high volatility, and chemical inertness make it an ideal solvent for gas chromatography (GC) and sample preparation in pharmaceutical, environmental, and petrochemical laboratories.

Application

2,2,4-Trimethylpentane is widely used as a non-polar solvent in GC for the analysis of hydrocarbons, fuel additives, and environmental pollutants. Its high volatility and chemical inertness make it ideal for separating volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
